With O’Hair Park as the center of our community, we build pride by engaging members and volunteers in social activities, educational sessions and neighborhood beautification events for all to enjoy.
our MISSion & vision

Strengthening the O’Hair Park Community to become a community where people choose to live.

  • Continue to partner with the City of Detroit to maintain the park and expand the offerings for families, kids and students
  • Host annual clean-up in conjunction with Motor City Makeover
  • Celebrate the community as part of ARISE Detroit
  • Expand the Lovable Lots program
  • Demonstrate possibilities for other side lots
  • Support Henry Ford High School
  • Sponsor youth and family activities in the park
  • Hold owners accountable for maintaining their property
  • Engage and support local business partners
  • Host volunteer organizations who donate their time and talent to make a difference in the community (Catholic Heart Work Campers, FCA, Bishop Foley High School, GM & International Academy)
  • Expand block captain initiative to the entire community
  • Create long term vision for the one square mile
  • Expand awareness of OHPCA to broader community
  • Continue leadership role in District 1
  • Explore/secure grant opportunities for OHPCA
  • Ensure all residents feel welcome and safe in the community
